Diagnostic Services
Youngs Animal Hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic equipment which enables us to facilitate a more rapid and complete analysis and diagnosis of your pet’s condition.
Digital Radiology
Radiographs, or x-rays, help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular (cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems. The image quality of a digital x-ray is much higher than a film x-ray and there is no time lost in processing the image. We are able to view the x-ray almost immediately so we can diagnose and treat your pet rapidly.
In-House Laboratory
Our on-site laboratory allows most screening tests to be completed within a very short period of time. Routine fecal screenings, urinalysis, heartworm tests, complete blood counts, pre-surgical screenings and blood chemistry profiles are among the many tests where results are available very quickly. We also routinely look at cells from masses to evaluate for possible underlying cancers. Reliable independent veterinary laboratories are utilized when deemed appropriate.
